Task Card Organization

If you are anything like me, you have a ton of task cards floating around in your files. I normally cannot find them and end up printing and laminating them again. Such a waste. I am putting an end to the waste of paper, ink, lamination, and time. Teachers already need more time. If you need help organizing all of your task cards, read on to see how I'm going to do it.

I am using the IRIS 4x6 Photo Cases I bought from Michael's on super sale over the July 4th weekend. I have linked them from Amazon, if you want to purchase some for yourself.

I personally feel like I have more math task cards than anything, so I focused on my math topics. I chose what topics went together and put them on a label together. When I get back into my classroom I am going to put my task cards in the corresponding container

I made these simple labels that I cut out, and should've laminated, then taped on with packing tape. It was that easy!

These labels fit perfectly on the top lid of the photo cases.

In the classroom, these will be great when preparing your math centers, literacy stations, or class scoots. I cannot wait to go to the container I need rather than going to my TPT purchases or computer to find the ones I am looking for!

These also give me no excuse to organize the new task cards I make or purchase.

If you are interested in organizing your task cards I have made these labels accessible to you! I have put the labels in my TPT Store the labels, click the picture below to get these for your classroom!

Here are behind the scenes pictures to show that it isn't all hunky dory. I work best in a mess, don't judge.

I also had an ongoing battle with the stickers. That is all I am going to say about that.

Happy organizing :)

Monday Made it #1

Hi all! Happy 4th of July! I hope you are having weather where you can enjoy the sunshine and fireworks with family and friends. I am linking up today with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for my first Monday Made It!

I have been busy working on things for next year. I cannot believe I start school a month from today, I still have a lot of things to get done. Summer is flying by!

I am really wanting to incorporate more emojis into my classroom this coming year, and I have been pondering different ways to do that. Something finally came to me today!  I have made an Emoji Reflection pack that I plan on using next school year.

I have made an end of the week and daily reflection sheet. I really want my students to work on being reflective and owning their learning. I plan on using these at the end of the week right around dismissal time. They are quick and easy, but there is more than just circling an emoji.

Thank goodness for Instagram teacher friends who helped me with this one. I have made it where students have to write why they chose the emoji they did, that way I can track what they are still confused with or need help with, or what they are feeling confident in so I can celebrate with them!

These are not just for older kids, I have made it for younger students as well. The only difference between them are one asks the students to write and explain why they chose what they chose, while the other just has them circle the emoji saying how they felt about the day or the week.

I have made these in color and black and white for the teachers who don't have access to a color printer or have limited amounts they can print.

I cannot wait to use these as a check in with my students at the end of every week!

If you are interested in checking out the Emoji Reflections head on over to my TeachersPayTeachers store and get it for yourself!

Five for Friday Linky Party

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching and joining in the Five for Friday fun! This is my first link up with this linky party, so here are my five things from this week.

#1
As I have posted many of times this week, I finished my 5th Grade Math Quick Checks! Super excited that I got those done and posted this past weekend! Check them out here.

#2
Target Dollar Spot finds. If you have been on Instagram at any point this summer, you know what amazing things have been found at the most amazing store ever. The most exciting things I found were the United States maps and the square adhesive labels. I have bought way to may adhesive labels, but you don't know if they are going to have them next year, so I am staying prepared.

#3
I went to Hobby Lobby this week and picked up these amazing lap desks that I saw on someone's Instagram. (If you know who, let me know in the comments and I will give that person credit.) I don't technically do flexible seating in my room, but my kids are allowed to sit where ever they want when they work independently. I thought these lap desks would be a great option for those who like to sit on the floor. They are relatively cheap, only $7! Get yours here

#4
I am so excited to be implementing a house system into my classroom this year. I am so thankful for Ellise from Faith Fun Fifth because she wrote a wonderful blog post about it, and I cannot wait to get started in my own classroom. I am going to use the Ron Clark house names, and I recently finished what I am going to hang up in my classroom. I cannot wait to see the friendships this brings in my classroom next year!

#5
I am heading home today! I live in Indianapolis for those who don't know, and I grew up in Evansville, Indiana, a city in southern Indiana (the toe of the boot when looking at a map of Indiana). I get to spend a good chunk of time at home with my mom and dad. I get to show them all of my pictures from my Europe trip.

Happy Friday! I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend with family, friends, fireworks, fun, and food!

Workin' on Wednesday

Welcome to week 2 of my new series I am trying out this summer! The purpose of this series is to let you all know what I am currently working on (hence the name) and what products or posts maybe coming down the pipe line for you!

This week I am currently working on making my Secret Agent activity a TPT product. Many people have emailed me asking if and when it is going to be up, so know I am working on it!

This tricky thing about making it a TPT product is when I did this activity it was specific to my school, so I have to think of a way to make it more generic so other teachers can use it! I created this activity on my car ride home from RCA and I cannot wait to share it so other students have the opportunity to be secret agents!

Be on the lookout for this in my TPT store very soon! :)

Happy Wednesday!

Workin' on Wednesdays (New Blog Series)

Happy Hump Day everyone! I hope you are enjoying the warm weather and being able to relax! If you are anything like me, you are still working, whether it be on blog posts, TPT products, or any of the other teacherpreneur things that need to be done.

I want to introduce a new series I am going to have on my blog. It is going to be weekly or bi-weekly (haven't decided yet), and it is going to give you a sneak peek into what I am currently working on! It might be TPT products or upcoming blog posts. I am keeping it pretty open-ended! My long term goal for this series is to make it a linky party where other teacherpreneurs can join and share what they are currently trying to tackle!

What I am currently trying to tackle is the largest product I have made to date for my TeachersPayTeachers store

I am finishing up the final steps of revising my 5th Grade Quick Checks for Math! I have reached out on Instagram and asked teachers what they would want to see, and I have incorporated those needs with my own! This beast has 74 different quick checks.

My math standards have been my guide when creating this product! I cannot wait to use them to quickly assess my students on standard based topics.

(Grey's Anatomy has been the background noise during the creation of this product!)

Above is an example of what the Quick Checks will look like. They vary in points, based off of what is being asked to solve for! They will be quick and easy to grade!

This is a list of all of the topics/skills that will be covered in the Quick Checks!

I think I will benefit from this series because if I have it where people can see my end date, I will feel more pressure to get it done! You all are going to hold me accountable because procrastination is one of my best friends. I am hoping to have this product done and posted by next week!

I hope you all will enjoy this series, I am very excited to get it up and started. If you would be interested in linking up your blog in the future, comment below or email me at crazinessinfifth@gmail.com!

Happy Wednesday! :)
